Mustang Challenge Details
The mustang challenge will travel to River Glen Equestrian Park in New Market TN on July 9th-11th 2021!
Pickup will be on March 19th - 21st in Pikeville, TN. Friday, March 19 will only be for TIP Challenge Competitors to pick up their competition mustangs. There will also be an adoption event held on Saturday, March 20th and Sunday, March 21st.
In correlation with the Mustang Heritage Foundation and the Bureau of Land Management.
50 youth and adults will have 100 days to gentle and train a wild Mustang in preparation for this competition. Competitors will compete in 3 in-hand classes on Friday and Saturday to determine who will take home a share of the $20,000 + in prizes! Prize money will be $5000 for the youth and $15000 for the adults. Prize money may increase with the number of competitors and will be announced on 2-3 weeks post pick up.
Adult trainers are eligible to adopt a mustang of any age. Adults competition is in-hand only, Youth trainers ages 8-17 are eligible to adopt a 12-24-month old mustang to train and compete in-hand.

Where will the event be held?
River Glen Equestrian Park, New Market, TN
River Glen is a full service equestrian facility consisting of 192 acres with frontage on the Holston River. Amenities include several beautiful arenas along with an outdoor trail course. Hook-ups are available.

How will mustangs be selected?
Competitors choose their horse from pictures provided. The order in which horses will be chosen is the order in which applications are received.
How much does it cost to enter the tip challenge?
It is FREE to enter this competition. Competitors must adopt the horse at pickup. Adult competitors adoption fee is $125. Youth is $25. Competitors are responsible for all costs associated with caring for the horse for 4 months. Competitors will receive $200 back following the competition. Stalls and entries for TIP Challenge are provided for no charge.

Yes. There are limited sites available. Please use the Mustang Open Show Entry form if you need to reserve a site.
