Ginger Duke, Rebecca Bowman, Allyssa Rennebu, Grace Thompson and Betsy Moles Fajen have been invited to compete in the Mustang Magic in Fort Worth Texas. They have approximately 100 days to tame wild to mild. Trainers from across America will take the challenge of competing with an American Mustang at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo while displaying the trainability of American Mustangs in hope of finding a suitable adopter. The Mustang Heritage Foundation created the Extreme Mustang Makeover event in order to recognize and highlight the value of Mustangs through a national training competition and showcase the beauty, versatility and trainability of the rugged horses. After being selected a trainer picks up an American Mustang that has been virtually untouched by humans and has approximately 100 days to gentle, halter break and saddle train, build trust and develop a relationship with the horse to compete and win.
Ginger, Rebecca, Allyssa, Grace and Betsy picked up their mustangs in September and compete in January. Currently there are over 60,000 wild mustangs in holding facilities across the country. Ginger, Rebecca, Allyssa, Grace and Betsy are trying to do their part in finding them homes, one mustang at a time.
